The Department of Defense’s (DOD’s) Hearing Center of Excellence (HCE) was established to address and mitigate the magnitude of the auditory injuries made prevalent by war. The HCE has taken steps to meet the mandate by developing a patient registry capable of exchanging information with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), supporting internal and external research, and executing a new Comprehensive Hearing Health Program (CHHP) to address hearing hazards, hearing protection, monitoring, and education. Through the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), the Professional Administrative Support Services (PASS) vehicle is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract that may be utilized within DoD or the VA, and which Knowesis has significant work supporting.
